Every feature of the Maximus is designed with the realities of the field in mind:
- Lightweight & Flexible: At approximately 19" long, its highly flexible design prevents snagging on branches as you move through thick brush and won't weigh down your pack on a long trek.
- Boosts GMRS Performance: As a 1/4 wave monopole antenna, it is specifically tuned to maximize your signal range and clarity on 2M/70CM frequencies (Including GMRS), giving you a distinct advantage over standard equipment.
- Durable Construction: Built to withstand the harsh conditions of the backcountry, the Maximus can be bent, twisted, and abused and will still be ready when you need it.
- Broad Radio Compatibility: The standard BNC connector ensures it works seamlessly with a wide range of popular handheld radios right out of the box, including models from Baofeng, Retevis, Anyton, Yesu, Quansheng, Wouxun, Btech, Tidradio, and more.
The Maximus is the ultimate all-around antenna for any hunter, hiker, or outdoorsman who demands a general-purpose antenna that provides a significant, reliable performance boost in any off-grid scenario.
Don't settle for less. Demand Maximus.
I'm honestly a bit disappointed in the Iron Spear Maximus antenna. The first issue is that it's shipped folded, pretty tight. So now, out of the bag, my antenna has got a permanent partial bend. It's not a huge deal, but other flexible antennas have arrived to the house, straight, and it's on me to mess them up. The BNC adapter is overly snug. I've had a hard time getting it off some radios (not others, depends on the female side of the bnc I suppose, but it's been snug everywhere).
The look and feel is nice though. I like the paracord-style wrapping. I think adding the frequency range the radio covers to the label is a very nice touch. Transmission and reception seem quite good. I tested the antenna with a couple of competitors and it's at least as good, if not better. So, the most important part of an antenna, well, that's here and in place.
Maybe changing how it gets shipped, winding it a bit less tightly maybe, I'm not sure. And that BNC is too much of a struggle. I do swap antennas (sometimes using dual band, sometimes mono-band, depending, it's why I went with BNC).
Great potential here, but a bit more polish needed.
Great flexible antenna for any HT radio!
It makes a huge difference with a great antenna on an HT to reach further than others.
The team at Ironspear, especially Allen, has been outstanding in answering my questions and providing excellent customer support. The antenna I purchased for my radio delivers a clear, reliable signal for communications, and I couldn’t be happier with its performance. Great product backed by great service. Highly recommended!
Great antennas.
