Will this relocation kit fit my handheld radio?

Yes. The relocation cable uses industry-standard BNC terminations. Many HTs use SMA — pair with the right flush-mount BNC adapter (SMA-Male or SMA-Female depending on your radio). Common paths include Yaesu, Icom, Kenwood, Anytone, Wouxun, Baofeng, and many Motorola handhelds with the right adapter. Confirm fit with the handheld radio adapter guide.

Should I pick the 24" or 48" cable?

48" is sized for plate carriers and larger backpacks — over the shoulder and down the back. Prefer a shorter run for compact chest rigs or manpacks? See the Antenna Relocation Kit 24".

Can I use this kit for a manpack or pack-mounted setup?

Yes. Pack-mounted and manpack-style setups are a primary use case: radio on belt or in a pack pouch, whip relocated to shoulder, plate, or rear pack panel via the MOLLE BNC bulkhead. Pick 24" for short front/shoulder runs and 48" for full pack/manpack routing.

How do I manage routing and avoid cable strain?

Route the cable through existing backpack webbing, elastic hydration loops, or MOLLE rows to prevent loose snag points. Avoid sharp 90-degree kinks at the connector base; a natural sweeping bend helps long-term conductor durability.

Does an antenna relocation kit guarantee extra range or lower SWR?

No. Coaxial extension cables do not amplify signals, create gain, or guarantee lower SWR. Relocation elevates the radiator clearer of dense body mass and gear so the antenna has a cleaner physical position — and carry is more comfortable. Warning: High SWR can damage your radio.
